Overview: Elfins and Hairstreaks (Theclinae) are in the GOSSAMER-WING family (Lycaenida) They are very small and quick with wings that appear to have a streak of bright color. General Habitat: Woodland openings, fields, and sandy open woods.

Generally they have one filght in the spring per year. They overwinter in a pupa under leaf litter.
